Mr. Bates, a former Cumberland County Assistant District Attorney, graduated from Bates College in 1989 and received his law degree in 1996 from the University of Maine School of Law. During his seven-year career with the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office, he prosecuted numerous felony and misdemeanor cases, including vehicular manslaughter, domestic violence assault, aggravated OUI and gross sexual assault. His area of practice focuses on criminal litigation.
